Canadian Wetlands Leadership Workshop: April 30 – May 1, 2014
Sponsored by Ducks Unlimited Canada the workshop aimed at reinvigorating a national dialogue on wetland conservation in Canada with the specific goals of: identifying the long-term, coordinated actions needed to conserve Canada’s wetlands; and, determine the best approach to engaging industry, non-government organizations, government and academia to advance conservation actions. Over 45 participants attended the workshop. They assessed the current state of national wetland conservation policy since the 2003 Conference on Canadian Wetlands Stewardship. Workshop participants determined that a collective effort is needed to build a national framework and implement the priority actions needed to sustain Canada’s wetlands and the associated benefits well into the future.
