The workshop explored the need for a policy framework, including adopting no-net-loss as a common goal, and explored issues associated with climate change. Findings and recommendations focused on science, policy and program changes needed to: establish a national wetland protection framework; develop effective wetland loss mitigation and conservation offset policies; and develop a focused climate change research, mitigation and adaptation plan.
