The workshop reviewed the history, and current and future business cases for wetland inventory in Canada. Participants determined that Canada needs a national inventory of our wetland resources to support ongoing assessment and monitoring of the status, trends and health of wetlands over time. A national inventory would also contribute to our understanding of the ecological goods and services that wetlands provide to Canadians.
